Extreme Team BuildingJanuary 19, 2015 82 Comments
When someone mentions team building, most would think of activities that help develop skills on critical thinking, communication, task delegation, etc. You may be familiar with or have been subjected firsthand to standard team building programs such as scavenger hunts, time pressured puzzles, obstacle courses and so on. Luckily enough though, for the more adventurous souls, certain companies such as Playworks Team Building conduct extreme team building activities.
By extreme we literally mean to say to get people out of their comfort zones. In these modern times, we are so used to having the luxury of technology making our lives so much easier we sometimes forget what it’s really like to work for the things that matter. Talk to a friend? Facebook, Skype, cellphones. Need to get somewhere fast? Cars, elevators, planes. Because of this, our settings would be mostly, if not completely, all natural. We want our participants to feel like they’re somehow going back to their primitive roots wherein workings for the necessities in life are actually tangible. And by tangible we mean a real connection between the natural resources we have and the people around us.
These exercises are designed to build team spirit and courage in one’s fears or doubts whilst putting their decision-making skills to practice by placing them in physically demanding courses such as..
A series of challenges that may or may not be time-pressured incorporated with high ropes. Hold on tight, don’t look down, and pull yourself up. Keep looking up and climb to the top where success awaits!
Are you brave enough to take the plunge? You may take it one step at a time and proceed to further heights once you’ve got a hold of your momentum. Medics will be on standby to assure safety while experts onsite will guide and ease you through the course. It will be all up to you then to take that leap of faith!
Cold feet? Try warming up a little by crossing our firewalk challenge. It’s just as exhilarating as jumping off of our cliff course but gives a different kind of adrenaline-pumping experience as you are more in control of your own pace in this challenge.
Your survival instincts will be put to the test with this course, which may vary from a jungle, to a beach, to an isolated island, as you work for everything you need, from food, water, fire, and other resources needed to actually endure the challenge until the very end and proudly call yourself a real survivor.
